Day 1: Arrival in Katra – Vaishno Devi Yatra
Arrive at Katra, the base camp for the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage. After checking into your hotel and freshening up, begin your spiritual journey to the Vaishno Devi Bhawan, located around 13 kilometers from Katra. You can choose to walk the entire way or opt for services such as ponies, palkis, battery-operated vehicles, or a helicopter (subject to availability). Upon reaching the shrine, offer prayers and, if possible, continue your trek to the Bhairavnath Temple, located another 2 kilometers uphill. After darshan, descend back to Katra. Depending on the pace of your yatra, you may return late at night or choose to rest at the Bhawan and return the next morning.
Day 2: Katra to Patnitop – Scenic Drive and Local Sightseeing
After completing your Vaishno Devi yatra and having breakfast, check out from your hotel in Katra and begin your drive to Patnitop, a beautiful hill station around 80 kilometers away (approx. 3-hour drive). On arrival, check into your hotel and take some time to relax amidst pine-covered hills. Spend your afternoon visiting the Naag Temple, a sacred spot in Patnitop, and take a peaceful nature walk in the surrounding meadows. You can also enjoy activities like the Skyview Patnitop Ropeway, which offers panoramic views and is one of the highest ropeways in India. In the evening, relax at your hotel and enjoy the pleasant mountain weather.
Day 3: Explore Sanasar – Return to Katra or Jammu
Begin your day with breakfast and an optional excursion to Sanasar, a serene location about 20 kilometers from Patnitop known for its natural beauty and adventure sports like paragliding and boating. After spending some peaceful moments there, return to Patnitop to check out from your hotel. Begin your drive back to Katra or continue to Jammu if you have your return train or flight from there. The tour concludes with blessings from Vaishno Devi and refreshing memories from the hills of Patnitop.
